About My Business
All About Automotive opened it's doors October first of 2000. We, my wife Karen and I, started the company by sending announcements to every person we had ever known, that we could get an address or phone number for. We began working our very first day open, with Karen in the office and myself working in the shop. It didn't take long before I needed a helper in the shop to handle the volume of cars finding us.

Now, nine years later, Karen and I are still involved in the business every day. We employ three technicians in the shop and an assistant in the office to help with the volume of work that continues to grow. The number of customers that our database holds is now near the 5000 mark. We are an ASE and DEQ certified facility. We are equipped to take care of check engine lights, DEQ failures, brakes, including ABS systems, electrical, suspension and steering, engine, transmission, differentials, drive axles, transfer cases and anything else not related to body and paint. We pride ourselves on customer service above all else. Our current goal is to buy a larger shop (still in Gresham) to allow us to continue to serve the drivers of Gresham and all the surrounding communities.

Biography
|
My interest in cars started as a little boy, especially race or sporty cars such as Corvettes. At Gresham High School, my automotive instructor, Mr. Kluth made class and cars fun. Understanding how an engine works made sense. My next step was completing my associates degree in Automotive Technology at Mt. Hood Comm. College. Upon graduation in 1981, I started working at then, McRobert Ford, now called Gresham Ford. Most of my career was at a few different Ford dealers. I spent some time working in a logging camp in Alaska and then supporting the vehicles and equipment for KIC construction in Kotzebue Ak. Before opening All About Automotive, I worked for an independent automotive repair in SE Portland. I learned what things I thought they did right, and considered what things I would do differently if it were my business. Today we have the pleasure to choose who we want to work with, who we want to work for and who to buy from. We get the opportunity to treat employees and customers with respect and dignity and give back to our schools and various charities and other community events. |
